Michael's 50% off coupon this week...and 50% off Martha Stewarts Craft Products...

I love it when Michael's has their 50% off coupons.  If there is not anything special I have been wanting I use it to save on my ATG glue refills (with coupon they come to about 5 bucks for TWO refills....it was a happy day when Michael's started selling ATG products!!!!).  I do not stockpile much when it comes to couponing, I just really have not caught on to that...BUT...I do stockpile regularly used craft and scrapbook products like cardstock, glue refills, page protectors.  I have a wonderful hobby room that is bursting at the seams thanks to these coupons LOL.

Also...  If you buy a Martha Stewart Living or Family Circle magazine this week...there is a 50% off Martha Stewart Crafts coupon.  This is a great deal since so many of the Michael's and JoAnn coupons are excluding her products nowadays.

I have really fallen behind on my scrapbooking.  I had planned to go to the GASB Convention again this year to get my motivation going...but I skipped it.  Last year I had so much fun shopping, visiting, learning, and of course mostly SHOPPING...since I still have so many things, UNUSED, that I bought last year....I just skipped it.  I need NOTHING when it comes to scrapbooking....but there are so many cute things it is hard to say "NO" at times.

The Cutest Hand Made Flower Hairpieces

Constructed out of fabric-punched blooms, flowering hair clips are the perfect way to brighten up Mom's day

1. Begin by punching fabric flowers: Lay a piece of fabric in a shallow tray. With a medium paintbrush, apply enough fabric stiffener to saturate, but not soak, the fabric. Let it dry, about 1 hour. Repeat with any remaining fabric.

2. Using craft punches, punch out petals and leaves as close together on the fabric as possible.

3. Using a micro hole punch, make a hole in the center of each bloom. Slip a pip through each hole, and secure it with a dab of contact cement.

4. Hand-stitch flowers to bobby pin or comb.

5. Secure the back side of the stitch with contact cement. For an extra-special presentation, insert the hairpins through holes made in a large punched leaf.

Slow-Cooker Pot Roast: Perfect for a cold wintery day!!!!

Get a head start on dinner with this fresh take on a slow-simmered, all-in-one meal that makes clean-up a breeze.

Prep: 15 minutes
Total: 6 1/4 hours

Ingredients

Serves 8

• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 8 medium carrots, cut into thirds
• 2 medium onions, each cut into 8 wedges
• Coarse salt and ground pepper
• 1 beef chuck roast (3 pounds), trimmed of excess fat
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions

1. In slow cooker, stir together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water until smooth. Add carrots and onions; season with salt and pepper, and toss.
2. Sprinkle roast with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper; place on top of vegetables, and drizzle with Worcestershire. Cover; cook on high, 6 hours (or on low, 10 hours).
3. Transfer roast to a cutting board; thinly slice against the grain. Place vegetables in a serving dish; pour pan juices through a fine-mesh sieve, if desired. Serve roast with vegetables and pan juices.
