Mid Century Summer Fun for the Kids: Vintage Ephemera

Here are a few more pages from the darling Summer Activity book I found.  You can see the pages I previously posted here and here.

I especially love the OBSERVATION game.  What a fun way to teach concentration and focus as they must recall as many objects as possible.  You can take the game one step further by making the objects related and ask how they are related.  Help with critical thinking skills!!!

Mothers, This Book is For You!!! : Vintage Ephemera

Here's page 2 of the cute little booklet about keeping your children busy during the summer.  I just love all the simple graphics!!!  HA!  I love where it states "now you will have the children on your hands twenty-four hours a day, for at least two months!"  Hey mister, where have you been?  My child has been with me 24/7 since MARCH!!!  Oh the good ole days!!!

House rules are key to living your best summer life.  Our main house rule during "distance learning" has been to complete the schoolwork early so we have more time for fun in the afternoon.  We now need to implement our Summer Rules....haven't looked that far ahead, yet!

Stay tuned as I add more pages!!!

Before we ZOOM into Second Grade, let's get the summer started!!! : Vintage Ephemera

Before we ZOOM into Second Grade, let's get the summer started!!!

I found this cute little pamphlet at a rummage store long ago and have been wanting to do a blog series with it.  This poor neglected blog is so sad but I thought, since we are choosing to remain somewhat socially distanced this summer, I might as well hop back on and share some vintage goodies.  Just like the old days, huh?  Feel free to give a little giggle at the outdated blog setup, does anyone even use this format anymore?  Maybe someone a bit more experienced can help me out with some instructions on setting up a more updated system?

Anyway...back to this cute little pamphlet...booklet?  I don't know what it is, really.  I just know I love the mid century graphics and ideas.  It is not in the best of shape.  When I found it, it was still in somewhat good shape but I haven't stored it properly, just keeping it with some crafting ephemera and thinking on using it for our Project Life layouts.  I come across it, every now and again, and enjoy looking thru it.

I would love to give credit, where credit is due...and let you know where this was purchased but I do not remember.  It was one of those "antique" mall type of places you would see in old (almost) abandoned malls.  The pamphlet was originally part of a contest, it seems, from reading the back cover.  The address included is Curtiss Candy; Dept M.A. 3638N. Broadway, Chicago 13, Illinois.  The deadline for the contest was September 30, 1961.

Easiest Hard Boiled Eggs with Instant Pot Keto ~ Low Carb Lifestyle

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas a few years ago and have used it consistently ever since. There is so much you can do with it.  One of my favorite things is suing it for Hard Boiled Eggs.  There is no way to mess them up with the Instant Pot.  They are so easy to peel, too.  Check out my YouTube video to see how easy it is...

Did I tell you that I started a new YouTube channel?  I decided that I needed to start one that was more geared to my weight loss and better health journey.  My channel is called My Low Carb Pantry   Come on over and join me on my journey.

We still have our other channel, Ramblings from a Girlie Girl where I show my family life.  Maggie is a featured player on most of the videos, of course.  We love to show our everyday life and special events.  We do hauls, crafts, play-dates, and other activities.

We would love for you to stop by and subscribe, like, and comment on our videos.

Those of us on the low carb and Keto way of eating are always looking for substitutes of our favorite meals.  It being grilling season, I am craving hot dogs and even better if I can have a chili dog.  I can make my own chili in a low carbish way, even my husband likes it, but sometimes you just want to open up a can.  I was thrilled to discover Skyline Chili.  It has only 4 carbs, y'all!!!

YES!!! 4 flippin' net carbs for the entire can!!!  I was very excited.  Check out my video at the top of this blog to see if the excitement was sustainable....
