The driveway (which is on an incline so hard to get out of when frozen) has finally thawed. I had big plans to get out today and enjoy the (still) frigid air and run some errands. I have library books due (one has not even been read), mail to send out (packages that I need to weigh and buy postage for), banking (hope my checking does not fall into overdraft), and of course, shopping.
My plans were abruptly derailed when I put key into the ignition and nothing happened. Usually nothing happening is a good thing, but not when one is expecting that something to be the car starting.
So I am house bound again. I do not mind being house bound but I prefer to plan for this. It is not the fact that we have no food or drink in the house, because we have plenty. A fridge stocked with Kimkins friendly food and a liquor cabinet bursting at the seems with good vodka (even some called Cotton Candy...YUM). It is also not because of "nothing to do" that will drive me mad....I have plenty of sewing projects to work on, scrap booking and card making, maybe even some cleaning....but I do not want to do that. I want to take care of my errands. I hate leaving them undone.
Well, since I am home, I think I will just find something on the DVR to watch. I already sat thru Hoarders. It was the one with the man hoarding RATS!!!???!!! GROSS. He had over 2000 rats. Anyway...I think I will cuddle up on the sofa with Belle Starr and watch "The High Cost of Loving". Recap to come.

Reducing End of Week One Weigh In
<~~~ Isn't she cute? I will use this graphic a lot as there are not too many of pin-ups weighing them selves.
Anyway, to the point. I ended up loosing 5 pounds for the week, well since Monday. Next week will be an entire week so I need to get on the ball. I was not totally on plan, so I am lucky to have lost anything at all.
I can give a million excuses but I am a grown woman who knows how to put on my "big girl panties and deal with it", as an old boss used to say.
But boy, what a week. With the migraine (that is still a come and go guest in my head) and David's ER trip and hurt leg, we just never really got back on our schedule.
Let's hope next week is uneventful and I can be satisfies with Tuna and Eggs. YUM!!!!

Reducing Day 2: Thoughts and Menu
Day 1 of the restart of Kimkins was not completly on plan. I found ice cream in the freezer and had a few bites before I came to my senses and tossed it down the garbage disposal. It makes me mad that I can not have this stuff in the house without wanting it. David does not like ice cream so I did not feel bad about him not having it. He is on weight watchers so we will not have that in the house while we are on our plans. I do not think there is anything else around here to mess me up.
On a good note, I woke up today to find I have lost 3 pounds so far.
For dinner last night I prepared baked chicken, broccoli, and sautéed onions (potatoes for David). I find that I need to be very careful with onions as they are a very carby veggie. When I am on a LC plan I find I get most of my carbs from veggies.
I found these old "reducing" advertisements while browsing the Vintage Ad Browser site. I think it is funny how, not many of them, say "diet". Most are advertising a "reducing" plan, not a "diet".
There were so many to choose from. I am sure I will be sharing a few as the months go by. This goes to show that "reducing" is not just a trend for this generation. We have always wanted to find the miracle cure. There is no miracle cure. We all know how to loose the weight. We know we have to make healthy choices and keep the "junk" out of our bodies. The matter of doing all of this, is another story. There are some who have addictions, control issues, some who just enjoy food too much, etc. It is a never ending battle for alot of us.
The menu for today is:
Breakfast: 3 Scrambled Eggs w/ cheese, 2 turkey sausage patties
Lunch: Leftover Baked Chicken w/ 2 T salsa
Snack: EAS Chocolate Shake
Dinner: Tuna Patties w/ lc ketsup, green beans
As I get more into my plan I will drop the egg yolks from my diet and do away with the cheese. I loose better when leaving the cheese off of my menu.
I have already had one "big pink cup" of water. My "big pink cup" holds about 20 oz. I am trying to get at least 5 of those in a day. Getting my water in is another issue, I used to be able to drink drink drink without thinking. Now I seem to be less thirsty cause I have to think about it.
Ok....I am sure I will be back with another post a bit later. I seem to like separating my posts into topics....and this was my "reducing / menu" topic for the day.
